Roughly halfway between Rocky Mountain House and Eckville Alberta is the little hamlet of Leslieville.
It’s in the aptly named Clearwater Country, and as you can see from this beautiful photo shot by Christine Morrison, it’s on the Canadian National Railways.
Lobstick Creek runs near Leslieville, and the stream is said to be productive for fishing. Its name comes from a fur-trading term, which is the practice of removing branches from a tree in a distinctive manner so as to mark a trail.
