While travel enthusiasts had their adventures paused in 2020, those on North America’s West Coast have been fortunate to enjoy – and photograph – inspired landscapes in their own backyards.
Staying closer to home has also offered a terrific opportunity to sit back and plan for those future adventures – something the team here at the West Coast Traveller is happy to help with!
From Alaska and Yukon in the north, through British Columbia and Alberta, and down into Washington, Oregon and California, 2o2o has been filled with images of snow-capped mountains, turquoise lakes, captivating deserts and dramatic shorelines.
Of course, we can’t forget the wildlife that makes its home in this region – one of the most diverse in the world. Breaching humpbacks, high-climbing mountain goats, a momma lynx and her kittens all captured our attention last year.
Here are some of your favourite images shared @TheWestCoastTraveller through 2020.
