Golden Skybridge offering sneak peek

The Golden Skybridge, Canada’s highest suspension bridge, is set to open in early June to the general public, but the operators are offering a locals-only preview May 30 and 31.

The bridge will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on both days and proof of residency required.

Those looking to partake must purchase a Skybridge Insiders Pass – $34 for adults and $17 for kids – which provides unlimited summer-long access to the newly constructed suspension bridge. Children five and younger are free.

The pass is only available at the ticket office, and timed reservations won’t be required for the local sneak peek.

Located at 503 Golden Donald Upper Rd., the Golden Skybridge is just two minutes from the Trans-Canada Highway and five minutes from town.

The attraction features a three-kilometre-long nature walk weaving throughout the Rocky Mountain Adventure Park.

Visitors will be able to walk 426 feet above the canyon floor, with complete panoramic views of the Columbia Valley, and viewing platforms will provide guests with further opportunity to take in the picturesque landscapes.

“Whether you’re staying in Golden or making it a stop along your journey between Alberta and British Columbia, the Golden Skybridge will soon become an iconic experience for Canadian and international visitors alike.”

The Skybridge is just the start, with a 1,500 foot zipline planned to open later this summer as well, along with other amenities such as a bungee swing and other adventure activities.

An outdoor courtyard and cafe at the experience base will provide the perfect pre-and post-stop rest along the mountain journey, Barry says.
