Tacofino Cantina in Tofino might have bragging rights for the longest queue, but Ucluelet is making a mark on the culinary scene for having some pretty awesome eateries on wheels.
Jigger’s Fish & Chips (1685 Peninsula Rd.)
This small-town gem is a local favourite for scrumptious fish ‘n’ chips. The portions are large, the service is fast, and the fresh, flaky fish is delish! Enjoy the outdoor picnic area while you eat your cod in the sunshine.
Ravenlady (1801 Bay St.)
This gourmet food truck showcases the fresh Pacific oyster. Relish the ambience of the outdoor gathering space while you sample a compendium of oysters including steamed, fried and smoked. Not into oysters? The Ravenlady also pleases with a panko-crusted Cod Burger and daily catch specials like shrimp rolls and fries.
CHEESUS (1708 Peninsula Rd.)
Enjoy heavenly grilled cheese, homemade Kombucha and more! Find this delicious cheesy wagon parked outside Ucluelet’s Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans Club #293. Cheesus is brought to you by chef Zane Nilson of the ever-popular après surf hub Ukee Dogs Taqueria.
Khan West Kitchen & V.I Pizza at the Junction (2695 Pacific Rim Hwy)
For those who crave a quick feed before doubling back to the beach, these two amazing grab-n-go spots are ideally located at the Tofino-Ucluelet Junction. Khan West (owned by Howler’s Restaurant) features a fresh menu of mouthwatering fish tacos, juicy beef burgers, wraps, poutine and the legendary Khanvocados (grilled avocado, bacon, smoke salsa, sprouts and fries!) Get delicious West Coast-style wood-fired pizza from Vancouver Island Pizza made with love by Jeremy. He’s usually there (unless he’s surfing) until the dough runs out!
