The new director of pet relations at Kelowna’s Eldorado and Manteo resorts is paid in treats and scritches, but he naps on the job.
Winston, a yellow lab, is a very good boy who works hard to ensure that pets staying at the lakeside resorts have a great time.
The golden boy moved from Victoria earlier this year with his mom Jessica Pearce, who is the general manager of the resorts.
He had been working at the Empress Hotel in Victoria since 2018 before moving to Kelowna.
As a pup, Winston was training to be a service dog, but he made the switch to hospitality after learning that the perks were better in the hotel industry.
Winston says the biggest challenge he’s had to overcome since moving to Kelowna is learning to be brave when walking on Manteo resort’s new floating docks. He loves the treats and the social time associated with his job and is happiest when making guests feel comfortable.
