Alaska Airlines starts providing service between Kelowna and Los Angeles this winter.
Non-stop, seasonal service between Kelowna International (YLW) and Los Angeles International (LAX) begins Dec. 19.
“This new direct destination will provide benefits to our entire community,” said Mayor Tom Dyas. “I am happy to see our international destinations from YLW continue to increase and serve our community.”
Geoff Ritchie, Director of Commercial and Air Service at YLW noted it’s been more than 10 years since there has been direct service to LAX.
“So we are thrilled Alaska Airlines is bringing back this integral route for the Okanagan community. Alaska Airlines has been a valuable partner of YLW’s for more than 28 years and we are excited to see the continued growth of direct international destinations provided by the airline.”
The route will be operated daily, with the exception of Jan. 6 to Feb. 12, when it will operate five times a week, Thursday to Monday.
