Lake Country is a district municipality with a population of approximately 15,000 in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Lakes, orchards, vineyards and beautiful landscapes characterize the natural environment of Lake Country. Residents enjoy a healthy lifestyle focused on outdoor activities. Visitors keep coming back for the same reasons.
Rich and diverse, this Okanagan community is where the arts, culture and heritage are essential parts of everyday life. It’s a tight-knit, engaged community that’s rich in culture and history within its four neighbourhoods – Carr’s Landing, Okanagan Centre, Oyama and Winfield – each has its own distinct histories and unique character.
As one of the fastest-growing areas in BC, Lake Country is a creative and forward-thinking community, actively building a vibrant future for all its residents.
Lake Country’s economy was founded on agriculture and local farmers continue to make a positive impact on the community. There are many farms, fruit stands and markets that have the freshest fruit and vegetables around.
Today, the landscape changes from thriving fruit canneries on Okanagan Lake, to lush green orchards, pastoral farms, rolling vineyards and even newly developed business areas.
As much as this area honours its roots… they also know how to have some fun, like ziplining, venturing down parks and trails and visiting vineyards!
