The perfect place to walk, run, hike or bike – if you’re the type to be inspired by nature, welcome to paradise. Every hill and valley, every trail and riverside is waiting to be discovered.
There are plenty of things to do in Harrison, so start with a walk around the lagoon and other pleasant treks, like the Heritage Walk past the older buildings in town and the Miami Bridges Walk through an old-growth cedar forest. For something longer, Harrison Hot Springs is also the perfect base for a hiking holiday with dozens of hikes, and for a little added adventure, explore for dozens of geocaches in and around Harrison. This outdoor treasure hunting game requires the use of a GPS device, or GPS enabled smartphone.
For golf enthusiasts, choose from driving ranges to beautifully manicured courses – something for every level of golfer. You’ll also find eco-tours, Sasquatch hunting quests, bird watching opportunities, salmon sightings and amazing waterfalls viewing spots. There’s even an exciting floating waterpark and other water sports available on the lake every summer.
You can certainly shop till you drop! There are many unique stores, offering everything from souvenirs to art & fashion.
This picturesque area is best known for two major annual events: the Harrison Festival of the Arts celebrates the best world music and art for a week every July; and the Dragon Boat Festival, bringing exciting races, community-sponsored attractions and festivities – all with the beautiful backdrop of stunning Harrison Lake.
For the cooler season, Harrison is also close to two family-friendly ski hills, Sasquatch Mountain and Manning Park Resort. Both offer great snowshoeing trails, skiing and sledding through the winter months.

The climate here is mild, generally warm and temperate. Harrison Hot Springs is a village with significant rainfall, the annual rainfall being 1714 mm (67.5 inches). The average annual temperature is 10.2° C (50.4° F).
Destination BC is developing a new campaign to promote hyper-local travel where residents are “tourists-in-their own hometown,” while practising the COVID-19 safety protocols as recommended by the B.C. Provincial Health Officer. Many B.C. parks are now open, and national parks were to open as of June 1.

Harrison is easily accessible by car from Highway 1.
Driving: From Vancouver, the drive is about 120 km heading east, 90 minutes travel time.
