A truly beautiful area on an absolutely charming lake, Lakelse Provincial Park is 20 kilometres from Terrace, B.C. and 40 kilometres from Kitimat, B.C.
The camping facilities at this park are excellent, the the lake is great for all sorts of water sports, including canoeing, windsurfing, sailing and waterskiing.
Trout and dolly varden are common in the lake, and nearby rivers offer world-class fishing when the salmon are running and fishing is permitted. All five species of Pacific salmon spawn in these waters.
Fish-lovers can also use a viewing platform near the Williams Creek bridge to observing spawning salmon when the runs are on.
The park has a swimming area, and although the water is cool, it’s possible to enjoy it.
Winter activities include snowshoeing and iceskating.
Visitors might also be interested in the Lakelse Hot Springs, which are just east of the lake.
