Red is pure gold for skiers in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia.
Red Mountain Resort, located in the Monashee Mountains just north of the U.S. border, is known for its light, dry powder snow — and it’s abundance. More than 750 centimetres of the stuff falls each year, on average.
Located on Granite, Grey and Red Mountains, the mountain has challenging terrain for intermediate to expert skiers.
Shuttles to the mountain operate from Trail, Castlegar, and Kelowna, B.C., as well as Spokane, Washington.
